What we do with location

We use your location to draw your route, measure distance, pace, and splits, guide you along a course, and show routes near you. Recording starts when a run starts and stops when it ends.

We do not provide your personal location information to any third party. One thing you choose can show a route line to other runners: publishing a run as a public course, and a route line you publish has both ends trimmed. Attaching a run to a community post never publishes its route. The switch that used to do that was removed on 20 August 2026, and the server now drops route coordinates from community posts even if an older app sends them.

Consent and withdrawal

Location is collected only after you agree, and you can withdraw at any time in the app or in your device settings. Withdrawing stops collection and upload immediately; runs already saved on your phone remain there until you delete them. One thing continues after withdrawal by your own action: if you choose to publish a saved run as a route, the route line you publish is uploaded at that moment, because publishing is an explicit act you take.

Refusing location does not block you from using Runflake, but an outdoor run cannot be recorded without it: the start screen asks for location instead of starting. Indoor runs measure distance with your phone’s step counter and need no location, and courses, goals, history and voice coaching work without it as well.

How long location is kept

Location that forms part of a run is kept with that run until you delete the run or your account. As required by the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information we automatically record when location information was used and keep that record for at least six months; when you delete your account the record stays but the link to you is removed.

Children under 14

We do not collect location information from children under 14. Under that age Runflake does not create an account, and any run stays on the device.

Rights and contact

You may ask us to show you the record of how your location information was used, or to correct or delete it. Our location information manager is the Chief Executive Officer, reachable at contact@runflake.com.

If a dispute cannot be resolved with us, you may apply to the Korea Communications Commission or the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee.

Change history

2026-09-09: The provider of Runflake changed. The app was transferred from Foo AI Corp. to WorkNPLAY Inc., which is now the company named in the business information below and the controller of your personal data. What we collect, how we use it, and your rights did not change. The people responsible are now identified by role rather than by personal name.

2026-08-20: Community posts no longer publish a route line. The switch that allowed it was removed from the app, and the server drops route coordinates from a community post even if an older app sends them. Publishing a run as a public course is now the only way a route line of yours becomes visible to others. Resend was added to the list of processors: it delivers the single launch email to people who joined the launch list, and only their email address reaches it. On the same date the cross-border transfer notice became specific: which country, when, by what method, and how to refuse.

2026-08-05: Corrected what an outdoor run needs. A run cannot be recorded outdoors without location, the indoor step counter is the alternative, and the route switch on a community post is off unless you turn it on.
